What is Capitalism, Socialism, Communism and Anarchism?
You hear these terms all the time but few people really know what they are. Here in American we incorporate some of each ism. Because any pure ism is doomed to failure. Europe has been around a lot longer than America. So there economic system has more socialism parts then America. Don’t be fooled we have lots of Socialist things here in America. Here in America we all pay for;
Social security |
Armed forces |
Services; police, fire, rescue etc. |
Medicare |
Forest and Parks Services |
Road systems |
Elec system |
Water management systems |
Waste management system |
FDA |
TSA |
EPA |
Because we pay taxes we have these services. We all need and use these services. Nobody can afford to pay for all these alone. So we all pay, that is Socialism. We would be in trouble If we didn’t have them.
Capitalism
We allow people to form business to produce products that people want or need. These business are usually profit orientated and can make the owners rich. They also provide jobs for people. If run properly and profits are shared with works, it works well. Unfortunately in America the tax laws have been changed. Now they encourage business owners to take more money for them self. The tax laws also lets them pay less. In earlier years the tax laws gave incentives for CEOs to grow their businesses. Given a chance to work unchecked it would be just like the Monopoly game. There is only one winner and everyone else is a loser!
Google’s Definition of Capitalism;
an economic and political system in which a country’s trade and
industry are controlled by private owners for profit, rather than
by the state.
Socialism
In Socialism you also have businesses. They are more cooperatives in Socialism. Co-operatives are a form of socialism. They work well for the people participating in them.
Google’s definition of Socialism;
a political and economic theory of social organization that advocates
that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be
owned or regulated by the community as a whole.
Communism
The government owns everything and people work within the system
to the best of their abilities. They are paid according to their needs.
Google’s definition of Communism;
a political theory derived from Karl Marx, advocating class war and
leading to a society in which all property is publicly owned and each
person works and is paid according to their abilities and needs.
Anarchism
As for Anarchism these people believe the government is undesirable,
unnecessary and harmful.
Does this ideology remind you of any political party in America today “government is undesirable and harmful”?
These ideas don’t go far because only the folks in power prosper.
All others are enslaved to work and have no options or protections.
